Built by M. P. Moller in 1966, and installed in the University's Weber Chapel, this 3 Manual pipe organ sits on a rotating platform that allows the chapel to be transformed from a chapel to a performing arts center by simply turing the entire chancel to the back and exposing a fully functional stage. The University is affiliated with the Lutheran Church and the project was overseen by University Professor of Music, Dr. Susan Hegberg. This instrument was completely restored by Columbia Organ Works over an 8 year period beginning in 1998. The entire instrument was releathered and the pipework cleaned and regulated in the original style. In 2005, the console was rebuilt with new, bone and ebony keyboards and a solid state switching system and mulit-level combination action was installed. The console is on a moveable platform which allows it to be placed anywhere in the chancel area. |
